What I’ve learned so far is that self-hatred has a bottom. If you follow it down into the reverberating terror, through the hot heat of shame, inside the center of the grieving body, past the grip of powerless rage, it lands.
The landing is you.Self-hatred is the bandage over the wound. The wound is the original injury.Once the wound is exposed to air, it is you holding out a place for healing. The very you. The you without a name. The you who can witness it all and even then, you who IS it all. You who can point to the hatred and say, “come, come home.”Making my show “Advice From a Loving Bitch” on this subject, has been an experiential journey into the BEARof self-hatred. Tackling, pulling up fists of hair, looking into the eyes of a screaming animal. Nothing less than that.
The essence of this work is constantly turning TOWARDS the pain and opening to it. Not easy, not easy at all.But worth it. Absolutely worth it. “Here is my map so far:Start from the beginning, if you haven’t already, and work your way towards the love…Thanks for tuning in,Rytheawww.rythea.comhttps://www.gofundme.com/Rythea
