Resources for Parents
I was an unschooling/homeschooling mom for many years who practices non-coercive parenting. This is a big part of my path: to foster my daughter’s autonomy, creativity, and learning while guiding her using a non-authoritarian perspective.
This is hard work that requires me (as the parent) to educate myself deeply on the repercussions of authoritarian parenting and the other options that are possible. It turns out, there is a rich, somewhat uncharted world of alternatives to mainstream parenting and schooling that bring profound closeness, play, collaboration, and joy to the parent-child relationship. It has changed my life and my family’s life for the better every day, and I hope you find these resources just as life changing.
Here are resources that I have used and value for my own development towards a non-coercive parenting philosophy:
1. My main non-coercive mentor Vivek Patel

4. Aware Parenting with Aletha Solter (for people with small children and newborns)
5. Unschooling Pioneer, Dayna Martin (who is also non-coercive)
