Classes, Groups, Workshops, Drop-Ins,
An 8-week Bad Art Series for Centering and Integrating Who You Are.
Monday mornings via Zoom
8:30 to 9:30am EST
September 14th to November 2nd
Recordings of each group will be available to all registrants. If you miss a class, you will be able to access the recording.
We have a growing Bad Art community where people take time to tune into their bodies, feelings, and creative weirdness, and it’s been very liberating! This fall, myself and Rose Oceania are offering a morning series where you can spend an hour on Monday mornings, as your week begins, centering and integrating into who you are.
Bad Art involves small warm ups in writing, embodiment, and visual art, into a central assignment that can be in photography, movement, poetry, comics, video making, singing, writing, and more (depending on which assignment we choose that week). The main idea is that when we give ourselves permission to be bad, boring, annoying, untalented, and wacky, our uncensored selves have a chance to be seen and expressed. People say over and over how relieving it is to be unleashed!

This group is for parents who are testing, trying, and implementing non-coercive, collaborative practices with their kids and family. It’s for those who are struggling yet devoted to treating their kids as whole human beings, while working on their triggers. You can be at the beginning of this process or deep into letting go of punishments, consequences, and power-over parenting. Wherever you are, this group will assist you to move to the next level of love between you and your child(ren).

Each Sunday, we will bring in a topic—such as screen time, bed time, food, boundaries, play, family conflict, or chronic triggers—and invite you to write for 10 minutes about your feelings and challenges around the topic. We will then open the space for sharing, getting input, and receiving empathy from both me and group members. As your facilitator, I will educate and give suggestions within the non-coercive, collaborative philosophy developed and taught to me by my mentor, Vivek Patel.
This group is an essential tool for parents to receive support in a community environment, to explore without being judged, and to hear from others who are dealing with similar issues, blocks, fears, and even victories. You are not alone and we all need help to break generational cycles that we no longer believe in.

Rythea Lee is a radically non-coercive and collaborative Mom to a 14 year old daughter, an activist and artist who speaks out on social media, a trauma therapist for 30 years, and a parent coach who has been supporting parents in this approach for the past 5 years. She loves leading groups and helping people look inward to find their power and truth. More on her at www.rythea.com
